I went here with my partner for a meal and possibly a few drinks only to be met by the man behind the bar who was very offstandish. Firstly it wasn’t even that late and we asked about food he said if you hurry up and order I will see what I …
Modest aspirations yet well executed, this is a lovely hotel with a high finish and punching above its weight. Good bed, bathroom, dining room, bar areas. Friendly and efficient staff and service, although there were some issues with …
there are no saving graces about this hotel. The double room was a pokey little space where entry to the only hanging space, was obstructed by an armchair, which couldn't be moved as there was nowhere for it to go. The bathroom though clean …
We had a family meal, 10 people in the restaurant on New Years Day and without exception everyone had an amazing experience The food was excellent the service was faultless and the hotel was warm so welcoming Thank you so much for making our start to 2024 such a wonderful experience
The hotel was recommended to us by the guides at Gilnockie Tower as an excellent hotel for a Sunday roast dinner. And it was. John, the Manager welcomed us and we were very pleased to read the menu - Roast Pork with Yorkshire Pudding and …
What a hidden gem this is - the staff could not have been more accommodating. We ate our evening meal in the hotel taking the 3 course option, the food was well cooked, hot and plentiful, tip to the wise, make sure you are hungry as the portions are generous.
The locals including teenage school children were an absolute delight, friendliness that we have not experienced in a long time.
Glasgow councillors should visit to see how a council can be ran and how our well earned money could be spent; clean streets, empty bins and well maintained common areas including greenery!
If you get the chance, visit this delightful area and if time and funds permit, eat or even better stay in the hotel! The rooms are not the biggest but they are clean and comfortable with common areas to sit / relax and have coffee or something stronger!
You wont be disappointed - we will definately return.
There was no available accommodation in Newcastleton on the night we wanted, so we booked at the Eskdale in Langholm instead. I had previously stayed at the Eskdale in November 1968 when walking from Alnmouth to Gretna. I was not …
Such a gorgeous hotel in the perfect location. Perfect stop to explore the area or stopover on your way. Amazing food (we had scallops, smoked salmon, steak pie, burger AND a sticky toffee pudding) all delicious with great personal warm …
